Draft National Building Energy Standard released for public consultation.
The Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency on behalf of the Energy Efficiency Working Group (E2WG) of the Select Council on Climate Change has issued a draft National Building Energy Standard-Setting, Assessment and Rating Framework for public consultation. The Framework, which is a measure in the National Strategy on Energy Efficiency, is intended to drive significant improvement in Australia’s building stock by establishing a pathway for future increases in minimum building standards to 2020, and improving the approach to assessing and rating buildings.
The E2WG invites members of the public to provide comments on the Draft Framework by Friday 6 July. Consultation forums will be held in each capital city from the 24 May to 13 June 2012, and a webcast of the presentation will also be available.
Your attention is drawn to the cover letter to the draft Framework which is available on this webpage. The letter highlights the key elements of the draft Framework on which comments are specifically sought.
